Dr. Chin Young Hwang

Korea Aerospace Research Institute (KARI)

Research Topic: Space Cooperation between Korea and USA.


Dr. Hwang studied Aeronautical Engineering at Korea Aerospace University (BSc, MSc), and later Science & Technology Policy at Science Policy Research Unit (SPRU), University of Sussex (UK, DPhil) in 2001. He worked as researcher at Korea Institute for Industrial Economics and Trade (KIET) during 1987-1990. He has worked at Korea Aerospace Research Institute (KARI) which is a government funded Research Institute since 1991. He served as Executive Director of Future Strategy Head Office from 2015 to 2018, and also served as chair of space cooperation advisory committee under MSIP (Ministry of Science & ICT) in 2018.  He is vice president of the Society of Aerospace System Engineering (SASE) in Korea and auditor of Korea Technology Innovation Society.

Gao Yang

Research Topic: Legal Issues on International Cooperation On Global Satellite Navigation
Gao Yang holds a Master’s degree in International Law from Xiangtan University, China. She is currently a doctoral candidate of Economics of Law at Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) School of Law. She is also an Assistant at the BIT Space Law Institute and an Assistant of the Space Law Center of the China National Space Administration. Previously, she participated in the Asia-Pacific Regional Final of the Manfred Lachs Space Law Moot as the faculty advisor of the BIT School of Law team. Gao passed the China National Judicial Examination in 2010, and worked as a lawyer at Hainan Sanheyuan law firm in 2013. She  also previously was a faculty member of Sanya University School of Law from 2012 to 2015, where she mainly taught International Law, International Economic Law, and Maritime Law.
